Megan Cash comes to CIHS via Riverside Academy
September 28, 2020
Hello, I am an ARMY brat who grew up in TX, PA, WA, CA, NC. Pennsylvania was the state I lived in the longest and loved the most, so I went to Penn State for college. I went into English education because I had always been dedicated to storytelling and literacy and discovered that my passion was helping others kindle their storytelling sparks too. (I have been licensed for 13 years.)
The best part of teaching is when a student comes back years later to tell me that I really changed their mind about the subject. Nothing is better than a former English hater who wants to share their latest book recommendation.
I live with my high school sweetheart (Justin Zumwalde, who went to school here his junior year in 1999) and our three cats (Nevermore, Furthermore, and Soda Pop). We foster cats for Ruff Start Rescue too!
I love Halloween decorating, shopping, and costume making. The rest of the year I enjoy gardening, playing with cats/kittens, and reading and watching true crime, fantasy, sci-fi, and horror stories. My favorite season is fall, of course.
A bucket list item is to become fluent in Spanish so that I can retire to a beach in Mexico. Which leads to the best vacation I ever took, touring the pyramids in the Yucatan Peninsula. I am going to steal my three words to describe myself from the Addams Family: kooky, mysterious, and spooky.

Hi, Megan!
Welcome to CIHS, fellow cat rescuer!
I, too, love your creative cat names. They made me chuckle 🙂

Hey Megan,
If you are serious about learning spanish, I am willing to help out. I grew up well south of the border and would not mind setting up a time learn/converse.
BTW, love the gato names.
