Hello, Cambridge Isanti High School students and staff. By now, you have probably noticed that the wall of the fan by the south house is no longer there. Who is the mastermind of this change? How did this beautiful mural appear?
It took more than one person to create this craftsmanship.
There was an entire team of students in the student council that planted the mural a week before the start of this school year, under the guidance of one creator and designer of the excellent lighthouse and art. Elsie Scheider was the one who designed the entire mural by hand and got the approval from the principal and many others to change the wall of fame to something more memorable.
But though Elsie was the original creator, she had gotten so much help from others to make this mural for the open house. Brenden, Inari, Jarlyn, Milia, Avery, William, and Sila all helped with painting the wall from the waves to the rocks. Though it was only the student council that helped paint and craft the wall. It was also students and friends outside of the student council who participated in the effort. Quintan Welsh, Ava Smith, Cassidy Millender, Judd Whirle, Maddlyn Houghland, Grace Pardo, and finally Chase. All help pitch in on helping create the mural.
What is the meaning of this mural? This mural is a symbol of guidance and leadership. The lighthouse is meant to symbolize overcoming challenges through its beacon of hope, resilience in adversity, guidance in times of turmoil, and representation of strength and perseverance. The way to show others through the dark and lend a helping hand is of such importance for our school and who we are. I am genuinely grateful that we transformed the wall of fame into a mural with the help of the student council, our staff, and the students who took the time in the summer to contribute to this improvement. Additionally, Elsie, who officially made this beautiful art piece by hand, deserves recognition.
Elsie had gotten help from the custodians and many teachers to use the projector to put a layout on the wall. Wouldbury and Filley gave their full support to her idea and filled the wall holes to make a clean base for Elsie to paint on. Elsie’s friend Ava helped by going to the school from 9:00 in the morning to around 10:00 at night to draw the outline and keep people motivated. The fact that Elsie maintained a positive attitude and garnered the support of more than 20 people is a remarkable achievement and genuinely showcases all the character traits we were taught in second grade.
The students of our future will take pride in the mural and in our school. Admiring each paint stroke and the patience put into this art piece. Please take a moment to thank the student council and the individuals who help make this wonderful light house, which truly gives us pride in our school and who we are as Blue Jackets.
