Last year at CMS, I was on the student council and enjoyed it. I was interested in joining this year, but my fall was busy with sports and school. I thought it was too late to join, so I figured I would wait to join next year. Last trimester, Mr. Woodbury brought up the student council during a class, and I learned you could join anytime. I was a bit nervous when I went to my first student council meeting in the middle of the year.
I did not know anything about how it works in high school, or how the people would respond to me joining so late. When I walked in, everyone was so kind and treated me like I was always there. They welcomed me and my ideas, and I learned so much about how things run and what goes into planning each event. I am so excited to be a part of a fun team that helps make the school a better place.
I encourage anyone interested in the student council to join us for a meeting.
