Espen is a norwegian foreign exchange student from Norway. We asked him a few questions about Norway and his experience in America so far.

Q: What is the most different thing in America?

A: There’s way too much to compare, the food, the culture, the education system, but I’ve adapted pretty well overall.

 

Q: What is your favorite food here that isn’t in Norway?

A: Chipotle, the steak burritos or chicken burritos!

 

Q: Do you speak any other languages?

A: Yes, besides Norwegian and English I know some spanish and some swedish

 

Q: Is there anything you don’t like about America?

A: Yes, Most of the people I’ve talked to are not very geographically inclined. Some have thought Norway is somewhere in the Unites States.

 

Q: What surprised you the most about America?

A: Well, when I came to New York, we were taking the bus to Pennsylvania and I got my first amber alert on my phone and within moments we saw Police cars speeding down the road, and a couple crashes.

 

Q: What’s something interesting about Norwegian culture we probably don’t know about?

A:RUSS that’s the Norwegian graduation ceremony where you party everyday for 1 month before our national day (17 may) and then do our exam.

 

Q: What is your favorite candy in Norway?

A: Definitely the Melkesjokolade, or milk chocolate.

 

Q: What’s your favorite Norwegian music group?

A: Well our school made a song, check it out it’s called West Side Glory 2017, but personally my favorite is D.D.E.

 

Q: Is there anything else you want to say?

A: ‘Murica
