The CIHS Girls Tennis Team made school history this year by earning the title of Mississippi 8 Conference Co-Champions. This marks the second year in a row the Bluejackets have won the conference, showing their hard work and dedication on the court.
The team also brought home several individual honors. The first doubles pair of Anya Lowman and Allie Troolin was named the Mississippi 8 Conference Doubles Team of the Year. In addition, Evie Porta became the first player in the history of the CIHS Girls Tennis Program to reach 100 career varsity wins, a huge milestone for any athlete.
The Bluejackets continued their strong season in the Section 7AAA team tournament. They opened on September 30 with a 7–0 win over Coon Rapids. The next week, they defeated Centennial 5–2. On October 13, they earned their first-ever Section Championship by beating Blaine High School 4–3, which sent them to the State Tournament for the first time in program history.
The state meet took place on October 21. The girls faced a tough match against eventual state champions Rochester Mayo. Their second match was a close 4–3 loss to Alexandria Area High School. Even so, the season was remarkable from start to finish. Congratulations to the CIHS Girls Tennis Team and their coaches on an outstanding year.
