CIHS social studies teacher Mr. Hayft proudly accepted a $500 check designated for improvements to the Japanese Peace Garden in front of the high school. Hayft, along with the help of CIHS math teacher Mr. Larson, applied for a grant to help improve this fabulous garden.
The Japanese club requested $500 from the Bluejacket Foundation for the purchasing of gardening equipment and other tools. This equipment will be instrumental in preparing the Japanese Peace Garden outside of CIHS for a ceremony in March, 2026. Taikyu High School from Yuasa, Japan will be visiting CIHS from March 15-25. While they are here, the Japanese Peace Garden out front of CIHS will be dedicated to the founder of the foreign exchange relationship.
